The company "Petr Stastny - gemstone -polishing workshop" was founded in 1991 when it replaced the original Turnov gemstone -polishing workshop of Josef Safar (founded in 1883).

Our objective is to offer our clients the best quality polished stones in all their diversity. We work with both, our own stones and stones provided by our suppliers. Our production includes different kinds of genuine natural stones, individual pieces but also small series of stones, cut and polished into classical shapes as well as into more atypical, original shapes. Our design polishing work draws on the latest findings and inventions of various related fields, as well as our own rich experience.

You will find among our clients a number of Czech and international designers. We especially value our work with restorers (e.g. our work on the restoration of the shrine of St. Maurus, the creation of a copy of the St. Wenceslas crown for the Czech pavilion of the Hanover EXPO 2000 or work on the new insignia of the universities of Ostrava, Pardubice and Jihlava).

Since 1994 we have widened our offer to include the sale of goldsmith tools, jewel boxes and similar articles, and since the year 2000 we have been able to offer also machine polished synthetic stones (cubic zirconia, corundum, spinel and others).

You can see some of our designs and stones as delivered to our clients in our catalogue. Others can be seen at a permanent exhibition of the "Cesky Raj Museum" in Turnov, at the Turnov tourist information office and in the precious stones cabinet at the Prague National Museum.
